Frequently asked questions

How often will we meet?

The frequency of therapy sessions largely depends on what you are coming in with, as well as your schedule and budget. I have found that it is very helpful to meet once a week at least in the beginning in order to jump-start the process, but we can be flexible with this.

How long will therapy last?

Again, this depends largely on you and your needs. Some people only need a few months, others find it helpful to see a therapist long-term to deal with life’s ups and downs.

Are sessions covered by insurance?

I do not take insurance at this time. However, I will provide you with a superbill at the end of each month. A superbill is an itemized list of services provided, which you may submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

Do you see people in person or via telehealth?

We are able to meet via telehealth or in-person at my office in Plymouth Meeting, PA.

Where are you licensed?

I am licensed in Pennsylvania and am also part of PSYPACT, which allows me to see clients via telehealth in other participating states. These states include: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Delaware, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.

How much does therapy cost?

A typical 50-minute therapy session costs $185.

What is the process for obtaining a letter for gender-affirming surgery?

We will meet for an initial consultation in order for me to evaluate readiness for surgery. This is largely a collaborative process that allows me to get to know you and your gender journey. Once I am able to recommend you for surgery, I will provide you with a letter within 48 hours that you may present to your doctor.

How much does an evaluation for gender-affirming surgery cost?

The evaluation is the cost of a standard therapy session. An additional $100 is due upon receipt of my letter recommending you for surgery.
